Yostin Andres Mosquera, 35, is accused of murdering Albert Alfonso, 62, and Paul Longworth, 71, at their West London apartment on July 8, 2024.

On the night of July 10, Mosquera was spotted 100 miles west in Bristol next to a large red suitcase on the city’s famous Clifton Suspension Bridge, the prosecutor said.

The cyclist who saw Mosquera spoke to him, thinking he might be a lost tourist.

But inside were the decapitated and dismembered remains of Longworth and Alfonso, the prosecutor said.

Mosquera, a Colombian national, had been hired to have “extreme sex” with Alfonso when he attacked and killed him, the Old Bailey court in London heard.

Mosquera was spotted 100 miles away two days after the alleged murders with two suitcases that prosecutors say contained the couple’s remains.

Longworth was allegedly killed first after being attacked with a hammer to the back of his head, before Alfonso died from repeated stab wounds, the court heard.

Mosquera was also allegedly recorded singing and dancing following the attack.

‘Extreme sex’

Alfonso liked having “extreme sex” with Mosquera and another unidentified man, whom Longworth knew about and accepted, but had “nothing to do with,” the prosecutor said.

Alfonso and Longworth had flown out to Colombia to see Mosquera more than once.

These degrading acts were often filmed and posted online, with Mosquera described as a “pornographic performer” by the prosecution.

Mosquera had visited the UK from Colombia more than once, spending time with the couple and having sex with Alfonso in exchange for money, and the couple also visited Mosquera in his South American home country.

Disturbing searches

Following the killings, Mosquera allegedly tried to steal money from the couple, attempting to send more than $5,000 to his own account online, according to prosecutors.

He is also accused of withdrawing more than $1,000 in cash from ATMs before the transactions started being declined — and making a PowerPoint document with all of the couple’s banking information.

In the weeks leading up to the killings, Mosquera allegedly made a series of disturbing searches on his computer, including Googling “serial killers of London,” as well as movies about the infamous Victorian murderer Jack the Ripper.

He also searched for the value of the couple’s home and browsed Facebook Marketplace for a chest freezer.

On April 28, A24 dropped the poster of their new biopic, The Smashing Machine, written and directed by Benny Safdie, on their X account, and the whole internet went wild. All because of the transformed Dwayne Johnson, and boy, what a transformation it is! If that one look was not enough, the movie’s trailer dropped the next day, and there was a frenzy about it as it garnered over 1.6 million views in 23 hours!

In the movie, Dwayne Johnson portrays the legendary UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion Mark Kerr and his journey to become MMA’s most formidable fighter. It also highlights the struggles in his career, his problems with substance use, and his relationship with his then-wife Dawn Staples, played by Emily Blunt.

Blunt and Johnson reunite after Jungle Cruise, and she praised his effort in this role. 

“Dwayne is someone who, as you know–not only because of his colossal size, but just who he is–has never really been allowed to disappear, and he is unrecognizable in this. And it’s an incredibly intense film, incredibly immersive, very intense, very emotional experience to do it, and he is extraordinary in it,” Emily told Variety.

Apart from playing the lead character, Johnson has also produced this film, and it also stars Mark Coleman, Bas Rutten, and Igor Vovchanchyn. Sporting a wig, Johnson looks eerily similar to Mark Kerr, and his co-stars didn’t hesitate to point out the similarity. 

“He did a good job. DJ [Dwayne Johnson] was, it was scary, there was a moment where he was talking to the Japanese press, and I just walked over, and I’m standing, it was a real scene. Everything was filmed like it really happened. His voice, he started speaking like Kerr,” Bas Rutten mentioned during a podcast.

While filming the movie, there were minor hiccups as Johnson injured himself, but he optimistically declared in an Instagram post that starring in The Smashing Machine means you’re going to get “smashed.” He also invoked his late father and said, “He always used to say, ‘A day without pain is like a day without sunshine, boy.’”

In 2024, Johnson told Variety, “I’m at a point in my career where I want to push myself in ways that I’ve not pushed myself in the past. I’m at a point in my career where I want to make films that matter, that explore a humanity and explore struggle [and] pain.”

On The Pat McAfee Show, Johnson also expressed a desire for something different from his usual blockbuster roles, seeking a part that would push him as an actor. He wanted to chase the challenge and be inspired by it, noting how the role made him nervous in a way that reminded him of the early days of his career.

Actor Jeremy Renner shared a memory of his nearly deadly snowplow accident in his new memoir, My Next Breath. The book goes into detail about what happened in January 2023 when Renner was run over by a 14,000-pound snowplow on his property in Nevada. The accident happened while Renner was trying to save his nephew from being hit by the massive machine.

After getting his nephew out of harm’s way, Renner ended up stuck under the snowplow himself, suffering terrible injuries. He broke more than 30 bones and lost around six quarts of blood. On top of that, lying on the freezing driveway for so long put him at serious risk of hypothermia. He stayed there for about 45 minutes before emergency crews arrived, with his nephew and a neighbor doing what they could to help until then.

One of the most striking parts of Renner’s story is his description of his near-death experience. According to US Magainze, He remembered a moment when his heart rate dropped to an extremely low 18 beats per minute, a condition doctors say is basically the same as being clinically dead. During this time, he passed out and felt like his sense of time and space completely changed.
